My name is Lindsay Woodard, and I'm a credentialed legal transcript proofreader. I taught middle and high school English for twenty years and thus have a sharp eye for correctness of spelling, punctuation, and word usage. It was a natural transition for me to move into the field of legal transcript proofreading. In addition to my bachelor's of science degree in English education from NYU, I also earned a bachelor's of fine art in dramatic writing, so I have a well-trained ear for how people naturally speak.
In 2020 I completed Caitlyn Pyle's rigorous Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice™ training course with coursework based on Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, the work of Margie Wakeman Wells, and NCRA guidelines.
I have several thousand pages’ experience in proofreading:
With a heart for social justice, I donate 2% of my profits to the Innocence Project, whose mission is to exonerate the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reform the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.
